UpStar Tech Pte. Ltd. ("UpStar") is the controller of personal data processed via the UpStar platform.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account data: name, email, password hash, role.
  • Profile data: resume, skills, experience, certifications, links you submit.
  • Verification data: assessment results, AI-derived skill scores.
  • Usage data: log-in events, page views, job application events, device/browser info.
  • Communications: messages you send to us or to other users via the platform.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To operate the Service, including matching, verification, and outreach.
  • To send transactional emails (sign-in, account, weekly matches digest).
  • To improve our models and product (using aggregated or anonymized data wherever feasible).
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

4. Legal Bases (GDPR)

We rely on contract performance (operating your account), legitimate interests (product improvement, fraud prevention), consent (marketing outreach where applicable), and legal obligation.

5. Sharing

We share your Skill Wallet information with prospective employers when you opt to be considered for a role. We use trusted processors (hosting, email, analytics, AI inference) under data processing agreements. We do not sell personal data.

6. Retention

We retain personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Inactive external job records are purged automatically after 90 days. You can request deletion at any time.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or object to processing of your personal data. Contact us to exercise these rights.

8. Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures, including encryption in transit and at rest, row-level security, and least-privilege access controls.

9. International Transfers

Your data may be processed in jurisdictions outside your home country. Where required, we use Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

We will notify you of material changes to this Policy via email or in-product notice.
